Overview
Pristina is best done on foot. The walk starts at the Newborn monument (the giant "NEWBORN" letters, repainted yearly with a new theme by Kosovar artists), continues to the Kosovo Museum and Skanderbeg Square, threads through the bazaar and the Sultan Mehmet Fatih mosque, and emerges onto Mother Teresa Boulevard for cafés and the cathedral. The National Library — the concrete-and-domes building — is the visual mascot of the city and a short detour worth taking. Lunch at Liburnia for traditional, Renaissance for upscale, Soma Book Station for the long version with coffee and a book.
